If print is dead I have seen no proof. I love making book layouts, print publications and covers, and I have been fortunate enough at my job to have had a hand in producing well over 40 publications over the past four years. I think one of my proudest achievements is taking over The Red & Black Guides & Magazines production division and making sure each issue is submitted, proofed, and received on time.
There is a unique connection to community through print publications. At my current job we provide Visitors Guides and Restaurant Guides (Eat & Drink) to those wanting to take in all Athens, GA has to offer. We also create guides for incoming Freshmen, Students looking for housing options around campus, and tailgaters coming in for the football games. We even did a couple glossy books commemorating UGA's national championship wins.
It all began with my first publication at my UGA Marine Extension internship: a cookbook cataloging local seafood recipes to promote the clean waters of Glynn county, GA.
