Drawing has been my thing for as long as I can remember. I grew up on cartoons and comics and never really outgrew either. When I was in elementary school I started drawing my own comic books on crappy legal paper, and through highschool I would make them for my friends just for laughs. I am currently in the process of publishing a collection of local Athens comics that people 'round these parts have seemed to enjoy.
Professionally, I have illustrated children's books, including Kimberly McCleoud's "Brave Girl". I think maybe my calling is to make children's books, since I seem to be a large child myself. The beautiful illustrations of books from my childhood have stuck with me my whole life, and I would love to give that feeling of vibrance to a new generation.
But also, I really like the crude stuff. Adult animation has come a long way and I feel like I grew up on that too, as well as experiencing kids shows and cartoons putting more faith into their young audiences to be able to handle the weight of art.
Here is some of my work!
