Ad design is how I got my foot in the door in the graphic design industry. I've created a multitude of ads for local businesses around Athens, GA, as well as national corporate clients such as Jinya and Barbaritos.
Working at the Red & Black, I often design house ads to promote various events and offerings. When COVID hit in 2020, I co-founded a fundraiser benefitting the service industry called "Art for Athens," which collected local art donations and sold them to raise money for relief funds around town. The campaign was a success, which would have been enough on its own. I was honored to additionally win first palce in the Associated Collegiate Press National Print Advertisement Award for my print campaign for the fundraiser. This was a great award to hang in my office and obnoxiously point towards whenever someone disagreed with me on design choices.
I've worked in digital ad design as well. I often make social media posts for Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter (X), as well as ads to run digitally on our site and newsletters. I have experience in static and motion gif ads. My philosophy in all ad design is to show, rather than tell.
I also uploaded various event signage and posters I made throughout the years, including the launch for my college art publication "Cynosure" and a few I had done for the Asian Art Department at the University of Georgia.
